In Final Fantasy XI‘s April update, out today, the latest chapter of the Voracious Resurgence scenario. Part to of Chapter 7 will begin from a particular character in Windurst Walls and the team hopes you’ll enjoy the story as it approaches a “momentous climax.”

This month’s Ambuscade will feature Quadav in Volume One and Beasts in Volume Two — both of which are returning bosses. This time, the team has adjusted Volume One so that the frequency of abilities the boss uses will be lower, as well as how many minions spawn. Enemy HP values for Volume Two have been reduced.

The A.M.AN. Trove is being revamped a bit to freshen up the experience, where exclusive accessories can be obtained by using these features. These accessories have unique “risk and return” types of effects, to reflect the spirit of the content. The reward table itself has also been adjust to include existing gear items, and the removal of items that are easily obtained. Used orbs, when returned to the NPC Greyson, “something good may happen.” Improvements have also been made to mechanics to heighten their appeal.

The Apex monsters that were added to Crawler’s Nest [S] were incorrectly missing curse resistance that enemies of this type normally have, and this will be adjusted in the update. Said monsters have higher HP, but reward more Capacity and Exemplar points when defeated. Effects like instant K.O. from certain weapons or the doom from Cruel Joke could bypass this design – so the team asks for your understanding on why they have revised these effects.

• A new entry has been added to The Voracious Resurgence.
  • Players must complete the quest Uran-Mafran of the Maelstrom and speak with Shantotto in Windurst Walls (K-7) to accept the quest.
• The quest Inside the Belly has undergone the following additions.
  • Additional fish are now eligible for turn in.
  • Additional items are now available.
• A.M.A.N. Trove has undergone the following additions and adjustments.
  • Various new visual and audio effects have been added.
  • New items have been added, including some equipment exclusive to A.M.A.N. Trove.
  • Some existing items have been removed from the list of available spoils.
  • Greyson in Lower Jeuno (G-11) will now provide players with additional and adjusted explanations.
  • Players will now receive a random item by trading used Mars orbs and Venus orbs to Greyson in Lower Jeuno (G-11).
• Records of Eminence has undergone the following additions and adjustments.
  • The monthly objectives have been swapped out.
  • New objectives are now available once certain conditions are met.
• Ambuscade has undergone the following additions and adjustments.
  • The foes in Normal and Intense Ambuscades have been swapped out.
    * As such, the corresponding Records of Eminence objectives have changed.
  • The HP of the following foes in Ambuscade has been lowered: Symbiotic Marid, Symbiotic Dhalmel, Symbiotic Coeurl, Symbiotic Tiger, Symbiotic Rabbit, Symbiotic Buffalo, Symbiotic Opo-opo.
  • This month’s Intense Ambuscade battle has undergone the following adjustments:
    • The Malice of Gu’Dha ability used by the Bozzetto High Vicar on Very Difficult has undergone the following adjustments. The cooldown has been increased from 20 seconds to 30 seconds. The maximum number of uses has been increased from 8 to 11.
    • The minimum amount of time it takes for the Bozzetto Berserker and Bozzetto Devour to spawn has been increased from 20s to 60s.
    • The intensity of the random weakness placed on the Bozzetto Disruptor and Bozzetto Defiler has been increased from 400% to 1,000%.
  • Certain items obtainable in exchange for hallmarks have been swapped out.
  • Certain items obtainable for total hallmarks have been swapped out.
  • Certain items obtainable in exchange for badges of gallantry have been swapped out.
