Square Enix wants fans to "wait a little longer" for Final Fantasy XV and Kingdom Hearts III

If you ever wanted to believe in history repeating itself – now’s your chance. Yesterday, during PS4’s launch party in Japan, Final Fantasy XV and Kingdom Hearts III Producer Shinji Hashimoto took the Sony stage once again… to announce absolutely nothing.

No, Hashimoto wasn’t there to bring forth news on two of the most coveted PS4 titles in Japan – but then, neither were any of the other guest creators in attendance. Instead Hashimoto offered up a bit of an explanation, saying he realizes fans have been waiting a long time, and the development team is working hard to meet what now must be astronomical expectations for a game nearing 10 years in the making. While he stressed that they would like to publish new information “soon,” in truth no timeline was given and instead fans must continue to “wait a little longer.”

While on stage Hashimoto discussed the relationship between both Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts and the PlayStation brand as well as their previous successes on Sony platforms. Final Fantasy XIV Producer/Director Naoki Yoshida was also on stage to promote the PS4 version of the successful MMO – due out on April 14th with open beta testing currently in progress.
