Final Fantasy XI's January 2024 update refreshes Ambuscade, in-game campaigns

In this month’s update to Final Fantasy XI, the team has refreshed Ambuscade objectives for Normal and Intense modes, and the monthly Records of Eminence objectives have been changed.

The team has also fixed an issue where the selection cursor didn’t work correctly when speaking to the NPC Coordinator Moogle, and an issue where certain items could be lost under specific conditions when trading with Oseem, as well as some minor text fixes.

The Login Campaign has been refreshed for January, where by logging in you will collect points that can be exchanged for a multitude of items. This month’s featured item are the Lizard Fangs, which can be redeemed for 500 points. The campaign begins today, and you’ll be able to collect points until February 2nd; after that point, you’ll be able to spend what you’ve collected until February 9th.

Starting tomorrow, the New Year’s Boon and Bounty Campaign will kick off, where chain experience points, chain capacity points, chain monstrosity bonus, increased seal and crest drop rates, and additional seal battlefield spoils will occur – amidst a flurry of other campaigns.

If you’re interested in playing Final Fantasy XI for the first time, the Ultimate Collection Seekers Edition is currently 67% off, discounted to $9.99 USD. This includes the base game and all of its subsequent expansions. The price of world transfers is also currently halved from $18 to $9. These campaigns will conclude on January 18th.

In other Final Fantasy XI news, director and producer Yoji Fujito released a New Years 2024 letter, detailing what players can expect from the game in the coming year, and we got a few more details about the Final Fantasy XIV collaboration Echoes of Vana’Diel alliance raid, which will follow the release of the Dawntrail expansion. This content is a 24-player raid that will feature various enemies and bosses from FFXI, including the Shadow Lord.
