Watch the Square Enix conference here!
At about 10AM PDT (approximately 10 hours away at the time of writing), Square Enix will be launching a live stream of their special E3 conference. This will be done via the Square Enix Presents Youtube channel, but the streaming page itself doesn't seem to be up yet. Tomorrow, before it goes live, we'll add a link right here so people can watch it along with us! As the stream goes on, this article will be updated with a quick list of all the information we obtain on various titles, which will be separated into their own articles whenever things start to slow down (I mean come on, I'm only one man!) toward the end of the event. A lot of exciting news is expected, with many recently announced titles (some as recent as a few hours ago) and a few titles that have yet to reach North American shores. With the possibility of new announcements on the way, we just know you'll want to be right there with us! See y'all in the mornin'! Watch live video from SquareEnixPresents on www.twitch.tv List of Livestream Developments! Fact-cards about Square Enix's various IPs as we wait for the livestream to begin. Some of them are
Final Fantasy VII Remake announced for PlayStation 4
After many years waiting and watching, it was just announced at the Sony livestream that Final Fantasy VII is being remade, playable first on Playstation 4. Although a release date was not announced, news of the remake's development could not have come at a better time. In 2017 not only will we be celebrating the 20th birthday of the original Final Fantasy VII, but the 30th anniversary of the series. We can all hope they are aiming for release during that auspicious year, but for now Square Enix hasn't shared what stage of development they are in. (Other than simply saying they've begun) As seen in the trailer below, Yoshinori Kitase returns as Producer, with Nomura Tetsuya as his director and Kazushige Nojima as the scenario writer. We will bring more on this title as it develops, hopefully with some new information during Square Enix's own conference being held tomorrow. The official website has opened with a teaser here and promises more information coming this Winter.

Breaking down Final Fantasy XV Episode Duscae
As many of you know the Final Fantasy XV first peek came out just a few days ago, packaged within the expertly remastered Final Fantasy Type-0 HD. I picked myself up a first print copy, and wasted no time in downloading the demo. I was excited to try it out, and for me that's a pretty big leap. From my days as a commenter on this and other sites, I've never really held interest in what was once known as Final Fantasy Versus XIII, now Final Fantasy XV. When the original game was announced I found it to be somewhat exciting, but I lost interest once it became clear the game wouldn't materialize any time soon. Even as people both on the internet and in my offline life slavered and babbled on about the game, I remained distant. Every spike of possible news, every shred of information set so many people on fire, but I stayed ice cold through it all. Even the E3 after the re-branding was announced I was largely indifferent to "Final Fantasy XV". Inside, I just kept hearing my younger self say, "Believe it when you see it". Well now I've seen it, and I sure as heck
Final Fantasy XV TGS 2014 Trailer Analysis
As every one of you no doubt knows by now, a brand new trailer was released for Final Fantasy XV during this year's Tokyo Game Show. What could be better than that? How about this: It's confirmed as being actual, live gameplay and not a target render like much of last year's E3 footage. In the wake of such exciting news, we at Nova Crystallis decided it was time for another of our Trailer Analysis articles, and we're inviting you to share your own observations and discuss possibilities in the thread below! A large collection of screenshots will be provided in the gallery below, from both the trailer itself (the highest quality I could get my mitts on), and the footage of the stage demo played by Tabata (on what appeared to be a PS4 dev kit). Here are just a few things that got noticed. The origin location on the boys' car is "Insomnia", and underneath it reads "The Royal Capital". The wheels appear to have words written around the rims, and there is some sort of talon/claw decoration on them. Gladiolus has a strange brace on his left hand which wraps around the thumb, but stops short of any other fingers. It
Final Fantasy VII G Bike doesn’t affect the story of the Compilation
The newly announced and free-to-play mobile title set in the Final Fantasy VII universe has been confirmed to apparently have "no bearing on the canon". The producer for the game, Ichirou Hazama, stressed that although he would like players to consider it as having occurred during the original Final Fantasy VII the game hasn't got a story and therefore doesn't necessarily need to fall anywhere along the timeline. It was also confirmed that the game is more about chasing down enemies than being a so-called "endless runner" game as some have anticipated it to be. Future courses are under consideration, though right now it's just the Midgar highway. The creatures, music, and actions in G Bike are meant to remind players of the original VII, as well as using the mobile platform to introduce new people to the lore and experiences of that game. More on this as information comes in. Via finalfantasy.net
The Type-0 Voice Cast includes Matthew Marcer and Cristina Vee
Since the reveal of Type-0 HD's development and planned western release, a few voice actors have come forward to admit to their roles in the upcoming game - while at the same time confirming previous reports that voice recording had concluded for the title some years ago. Now that the localization is official, Mathew Mercer has stepped forward to confirm he will play the bowman Trey, Cristina Vee will play the mace-wielding Cinque, and Orion Acaba will voice the lancer named Nine. Orion in particular had this to say on the subject: “I am so proud, happy and thrilled to finally and officially announce that I will be playing the character “Nine” in the new Final Fantasy Type-0 game!!!! I have owned, played, and beat all of the previous Final Fantasy games and it is a true honor and privilege for me to now be a part of this wonderful story. I remember my last day recording for Nine close to two years ago, and as I drove home I welled up with tears of pure elation and joy. There have been a few times in my life where that has happened, and as I watched the giant trailer at E3 with Agito
Unlock the Helter Skelter Garb in Lightning Returns in this Outerworld Challenge
The English facebook for Final Fantasy XIII (encompassing the whole trilogy, not just the first game) has shared a special set of contests recently designed to increase visibility and activity for the Outerworld feature in Lightning Returns. You can use it to post screenshots of scenes, battles, battle scores, and even just the environment around you. If you haven't already, use it to show off your Lightning customizations too! Anything goes in this first Outerworld Challenge- All they're looking for is 100,000 posts to be made (total, not per person) via the Outerworld service. This event is open to both consoles and all regions, so no-one gets left out! The challenge started on Saturday, February 15th, and will run a total of two weeks. The prize? The Helter Skelter garb. This outfit is available in the main game, but it must be bought from a shop for 100,000 gil. What's more is that this powerful garb is only available for purchase on Hard Mode, meaning it may be quite some time before you get it ordinarily. It has the Attack Lv.4 ability locked onto it, provides a Strength boost of 180 points, and adds 50 to your maximum ATB total (up to
Lightning Returns English Demo Impressions
The North American release of Lightning Returns is in just one week, so what better way to get people excited than a quick set of impressions (and screenshots) from the English demo? To start with, the opening CG sequence is (as many of you have already seen) gorgeous. It's followed up by a pretty concise scenery-shot primer narrated by Lightning herself, which covers a few connections and refreshers such as Serah's death. The demo dives pretty much immediately into things after that, with a battle that teaches you how to use the Style Shift system. It was relatively easy to grasp the basics, but I took the tutorial anyway just to be through. After you fell your first enemy, one of the Anubys creatures seen in the opening, you are locked in a room with three separate enemy troops and told how to do things like manually attack on the field, or perfect guard in battle. Once I managed to get rid of all three, a pop-up proclaimed that I had unlocked Schema customization. I took a few moments to look around though, and check out the NPCs running around nearby. There were definitely some surface textures that looked low resolution when
