The latest issue of Weekly Shonen Jump details new information on Dragon Quest XI including the battle system and new characters. A big update was just made to the official Japanese Dragon Quest XI website which details a lot of new information about the game including towns, fields, dungeons and more. Let's take a closer look at this new information. Towns Towns are where intimate information and convenient facilities come together. Talk to the people of these towns, collect information, purchase items and equipment, ready yourself for your next adventure and set your sights on your next destination. Towns and villages have many cultures and natural features. There are lots of people living in these crowded bustling cities! Gather new information by speaking directly to the people of the town and hear their stories. Hear the voices of these people through speech bubbles of those nearby. Troubled people can also be seen at a glance with the speech bubble, how convenient! Facilities Convenient facilities are located in towns to help you along your adventure. World of Final Fantasy Patch 1.03 releasing March 23
Square Enix is preparing to launch patch 1.03 for World of Final Fantasy on March 23, the company announced today. This update will bring with it several quality of life updates, along with the promised Champion Summon Balthier downloadable content. Here's what you can expect: Skip functionality for battle scenes added: Press circle to skip summoning scenes such as Mega Mirage and Champion Summons. Fast Forward added to settings: Fast forward through battles and events by selecting an input in the settings. Battle response improved: ATB bar fill conditions during normal battles have improved with command input faster than before. Sephiroth, Balthier and Sora added to battle BGM settings: Provided you have their Champion Medals you can choose their battle background music. Random option added to battle BGM. HP and AP recovery at gates, save points and each chapter save. World of Final Fantasy is now available for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita.
Artist Roberto Ferrari speaks about his designs in Final Fantasy XV
Posted at the release of Final Fantasy XV, Roberto Ferrari, Italian artist and one of the character designers for the game, spoke out on his Facebook about his designs from in the game. Despite this post being almost a month old, it seems that it went unnoticed by the majority of the Internet until today. In this post, he describes changes made to his original designs for many of the characters and briefly describes the development of Final Fantasy XV from his experience. UPDATE: Utada Hikaru isn’t working on a new song for Kingdom Hearts III quite yet
UPDATE (12/23/2016): Utada Teruzane returned to Twitter today with a brief correction on his original statement. He says that while they're eager to get involved with Kingdom Hearts III, the decision to do so is not official as of yet. ORIGINAL: Recently confirmed on Twitter by Utada Teruzane, father and manager to Utada Hikaru, his daughter is indeed working on a new theme song for Kingdom Hearts III, and that they've already begun work on it. You undoubtably know of Utada's songs both used in Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts II with their respective theme songs, "Simple and Clean" and "Sanctuary". Until today, fans have questioned whether or not Utada would be creating the new theme song to the long awaited finale of the Kingdom Hearts series. Fans can now rest assured that another iconic theme song will be created for Kingdom Hearts III following in the footsteps of its prequels. Next in line for the series is Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue which will release worldwide next month on January 24th, 2017. Character and map information for Dragon Quest XI revealed
New information regarding Dragon Quest XI was revealed today at Jump Festa, with this came information about a few characters as well as the world map. On stage was series writer Yuji Horii, who has been writing the story for Dragon Quest ever since the beginning. The team looked back at the history of the series and wanted this new entry in the series to truly shine and almost see it as a reboot. Main Protagonist The hero of the game is a young man who resides within the peaceful village of Ishi. He was raised by the kind people of his village. His adventure begins on the day he turns 16 years old. Camus Camus is a blue-haired thief that the protagonist encounters on his journey. Being a thief, he's rather rude and brash in nature, but has a strong sense of honor. New Dragon Quest XI gameplay debuted at Jump Festa
Very little information has been detailed about the newest title in the Dragon Quest series since its announcement over a year ago. Today, at Jump Festa, Square Enix has unveiled new information for the anticipated Dragon Quest XI! Gameplay was also shown running on the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo 3DS. On the PS4 they showed part of the world map and even riding on a horse. Dragon Quest X detailed for PlayStation 4
Square Enix announced last year that Dragon Quest X would be coming to PlayStation 4. Today at Jump Festa they showed it running for the first time on the hardware. Producer Yosuke Saito says that the development is moving along smoothly with gameplay shown off in a water level on the stream. The game is said to run like a high-spec PC on the PlayStation 4 running at full 1080p and 60 FPS. Details regarding the release date and pricing are still yet unannounced, likely being discussed at the next live event. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VRP01xAmnk4 In addition to the PlayStation 4 announcement, they showed off a few other features of the game including a "Battle Renaissance" which allows you to battle previous boss monsters again. There is "Weak" setting as well as a demanding "Super Strong" when challenging these bosses. An announcement was also made for a fishing contest titled the "1st Tuna Grand Prix" which will reward various trophies and even a Manta Ray mount. Dragon Quest X is still only available in Japan with future plans of localization still in the air.
NieR: Automata Jump Festa trailer with Dragon Quest weapon collaboration
Square Enix has revealed a short PV for NieR: Automata which shows off the recently revealed Final Fantasy XV weapon collaboration, as well as a new collaboration with Dragon Quest and the "Cypress Stick". The full game is set to release in Japan on February 23, North America on March 7 and in Europe on March 10.
Final Fantasy XV’s Crown Update detailed and a message from Tabata
With only two days left to go, Square Enix held one final Active Time Report for Final Fantasy XV before the game's release this Tuesday. The Active Time Report detailed the changes and features of the patch "Crown Update" which will be available day one of release.
