PlayStation will be showing 20 minutes of Final Fantasy XVI footage this Thursday, April 13th at 2pm Pacific, according to an official announcement today. Recently, the game’s developers celebrated the game going gold, or when development on the game has completed and it is ready to be shipped.
In a recent presentation at PAX, producer Naoki Yoshida mentioned that an April update would go over more of the game’s non-combat objectives, such as questing, hunts, and so on – it appears this showing at State of Play may indeed show some insight into some of the side activities you’ll encounter in the world of Valisthea.
Aside from that, the game’s official twitter has been sneaking out some short video clips, including that of Clive’s trusted friend Torgal, a white chocobo with a mean stare, and an adorably rotund moogle flitting about The Hideaway – a base of sorts that Cidolfus Telamon operates that will become something of a hub Clive will return to during the game.
Final Fantasy XVI is set to launch on PlayStation 5 in June 22, 2023.
